Don’t allow your time to slip through your hands
As we continue our conversation on the importance of measuring our progress and maximizing our time, we want to strengthen our capacity in these areas to ensure our time does not slip through our hands.
Building new skills and the mindset that support them requires intentional actions and daily commitment. There is an old saying, “Time waits for no one,” and that includes you.
Allow me to help you set the expectation. You won’t change in one day. The shift will come over time. However, it will not start until you do. There are blessings with your name on them, but you must be positioned correctly to take advantage of them. When you allow time to slip through your hands because you mismanage your days, you will always be out of position.
We are at that point in the year and our lives that opportunities to advance to the next level can no longer be missed. I want to see you experience the fullness of what you currently see in your dreams.
As you look at the remainder of August, utilize this month to reposition yourself. Build out the systems in your life that enable you to track your progress and your time. As I often share, don’t overwhelm yourself. We are in pursuit of progress, not perfection. Make progress daily, and your new habits will form with consistency and commitment over time.
As we discussed previously, it’s highly recommended to incorporate a wind down after your workout. Your workday should be no different. Your workday needs a wind-down period as well. At the end of your day, this time is an opportunity to settle your mind, body, and spirit. Like a workout, you’re fatigued from the intensity of being engaged in activities all day.
Your wind-down is your opportunity to ensure you’ve expended your mental, spiritual, and physical energy in productive ways. You want to create a system that enables you to reset and refocus daily. You want to be prepared daily to proactively engage in the work essential to achieving the success you envision.
Your wind-down is your springboard into the next day. Your wind-down every evening will guide you in your ability to reflect, reset, and relaunch effectively. The insight and perspective you gain in the evening will give you the focus and plan to maximize your time the next day. In the evening, you reflect and reset to prepare yourself to relaunch in the morning and proactively attack each day.
As you start this new week, be intentional about establishing this system in your life. Don’t allow time to slip through your hands.
Build Forward,
Ronald
